Rosemary Rowe is a playwright, essayist, blogger, and performer whose plays, cabaret pieces, and occasional donut performance art have been produced on stages across Canada. Her Sterling Award–winning play The Good Bride has been produced three times, including a run at Vancouver’s Firehall Arts Centre. Her short play Anne and Diana Were TOTALLY DOING IT has been enjoyed by audiences in Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal, and Chicago, and was published in Queering The Way: A Loud and Queer Anthology. Her play Benedetta Carlini – Lesbian Nun of Renaissance Italy!! was translated into Italian and the bilingual play is available on Amazon.
Rose is also the writer and co-creator of Seeking Simone, a lesbian web comedy about online dating that was an official selection at the 2012 Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival and was translated into seven languages by devoted fans hungry for queer content (aren’t we all).
She was a finalist on the inaugural season of CBC Radio’s Canada Writes way back in 2007—on the very same day as her wedding. She didn’t win the competition, but she did win at love.
Rose now lives on Vancouver Island with her wife, Kate and an alarmingly large aquatic snail.
